Kevin King

PRESIDENT

As President of Headwaters Development, Kevin has been leading the company’s emergence and success in the Naples real estate market.

Mr. King has been a homeowner in Naples since 2009 and his passion for real estate translated into the creation of Headwaters Development in 2012. Kevin and the Headwaters team are always working on expanding their business to further entrench themselves in the Florida real estate market while continuing expansion into other areas of the United States.

Mr. King is a Chartered Professional Accountant and graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland. Having worked in both public and private practice, Mr. King has over 25 years of experience as owner and senior executive with several large real estate development and construction companies in Canada. With a passion for success, he continues to seek new opportunities to grow and develop his company and team of employees. Mr. King is an experienced and well-regarded developer with expertise in the construction and real estate sectors.

Greg Wardeberg

VICE PRESIDENT OF DEVELOPMENT

As Vice President of Development, Greg Wardeberg is responsible for managing the Headwaters team as it relates to the design, development, construction and sale of our projects. Additionally, he works directly with our owners to assist with property evaluations and acquisitions.

Mr. Wardeberg holds a Bachelor of Science Civil Engineering degree from Michigan State University. After working for a Civil Engineering consulting firm for 5 years, he followed his passion into vertical construction. He is a State Certified General Contractor in Florida and a licensed Residential Builder in the State of Michigan.

Over the years, Mr. Wardeberg has been responsible for the design, construction and sale of over 250 homes in Southwest Florida. These include homes at The Landings at Bears Paw, Audubon, Pelican Landing, The Colony, Renaissance and Sabal Lake.

Michael King

VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES AND CONSTRUCTION

As Vice President of Sales and Construction for Headwaters Development, Michael is heavily involved in managing many aspects of the company’s operation. Whether it be seeking out and researching new development opportunities, approving architectural design, guiding the sales team in their efforts to exceed our clients’ expectations, negotiating terms of agreements, obtaining permits or meeting on site to guide projects and liaise with sub-contractors, his responsibilities are extensive.

Mr. King is a product of Memorial University of Newfoundland where he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Since graduation he has been working in real estate sales and development in Newfoundland, Canada, where he most recently oversaw the development of one of our Canadian parent company’s flagship communities and was a Broker and award winning Realtor® for Re/Max Plus Realty Inc.

Michael effectively applies his knowledge and expertise to help lead the Headwaters Development team in further developing their reputation as a high quality builder in Southwest Florida.

Frank Vespi

GENERAL CONTRACTOR / SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

Frank Vespi is a State Certified General Contractor and Senior Project Manager with Headwaters Construction LP and is based in Naples, Florida. His role and responsibilities with Headwaters include coordinating construction activities from permitting through project completion, liaising with clients, contracting and managing necessary building trades, approving payment requests, and ensuring the successful and efficient closeout of projects upon completion.

Frank Vespi has extensive experience as a general contractor and project manager, including more than 40 years in the construction industry, and holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Florida Gulf Coast University. His work has spanned all areas of the construction industry: heavy civil construction, including a new runway at Fort Lauderdale International Airport; commercial construction, including a restaurant and banquet hall in Oakville, Ontario; and high-end residential construction in Naples, Florida. Frank’s skills include attention to detail, working proactively to efficiently and effectively complete tasks and projects, decisive problem solving, and ensuring the utmost customer satisfaction.

Katherine Marx

MANAGER OF SALES AND DESIGN

As Manager of Sales and Design, Katherine is an integral part of the Headwaters Development team. Katherine works with Headwaters clients and homeowners through every step of the purchase, design, planning, and construction phases. Our homeowners each hold special priorities, lifestyles, and design preferences. Katherine’s main focus is on listening to these and working closely with the Headwaters team and local architects to determine the most desirable location, floor plan, and customized design elements to create the home that speaks to each homeowner’s unique vision and lifestyle.

Katherine’s love of creating exceptional spaces was first realized in the form of interior design and space planning. After completing the Residential Planning program at the Art Institute, Katherine began working on renovation and new construction projects with the Headwaters team and quickly fell in love with the process of designing and building luxury homes from the ground up. The natural progression into real estate allowed Katherine to integrate her love of design, sales, planning, and construction into one exciting role with the company. Katherine’s thoughtful approach to creating uplifting and inspiring spaces, paired with the utmost level of professionalism and twenty years in Naples, allows her to provide seamless guidance every step of the way.

JD Hechavarria

DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING / PROJECT MANAGER

As Director of Engineering / Project Manager of Headwaters Development LP, Jairy “JD” Duarte Hechavarria’s responsibilities include assisting with the design process, scheduling and budgeting, subcontractor selection, monitoring construction and overseeing quality control to ensure all projects are completed within budget and in a timely matter.

JD is a Florida registered Professional Engineer and Certified Building Contractor with over ten years of Civil Engineering experience mainly focused on the road and bridge construction and inspection services industries. For the last two years, JD has been immersed in real estate and residential construction, where he plans to help with the continued success of the Headwaters Team. JD’s passion for construction and application of innovative ideas are valuable ingredients for the growth and diversification of the company.

Amelia Turpin

RISK ASSESSMENT AND HR MANAGER

As Risk Assessment and HR Manager of Headwaters Development, Amelia is an integral part of the company’s day to day operations. Her responsibilities encompass a wide variety of tasks that ensure the company is able to run safely and efficiently. Some of her responsibilities include dealing with subcontractor agreements and invoices, maintaining employee time logs and benefits, assisting the Director of Engineering to implement/manage job site safety policies and to assist with company insurance policies.

Ms. Turpin holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Safety Engineering Diploma from the College of the North Atlantic. Before joining the Headwaters team Amelia was employed by Johnson Insurance, Newfoundland’s largest insurance company. She is looking forward to applying her knowledge and education to assist Headwaters with their anticipated growth in the Southwest Florida real estate market.
